Latin Name: Linum Usitatissimum
Also known as Linseed Oil, Flaxseed is a cold-pressed carrier oil which - fun fact - smells like melted butter! It contains omega-6 and omega-9 essential fatty acids, B vitamins, potassium, lecithin, magnesium, fiber, protein, and zinc and, when taken internally, also provides approximately 50% more omega-3 oils (which the body cannot produce itself) than in a fish oil - perfect for vegetarians/vegans!
Who is it suitable for?
The high Omega content of Flaxseed helps smooth wrinkles by helping repair skin cells - therefore it is ideal for those with ageing skin. Furthermore it also aids inflamed and irritated conditions - such as psoriasis prone skin.
