Adapting Your Skincare Routine Throughout the Cold Seasons

Adapting Your Skincare Routine Throughout the Cold Seasons

As the seasons change, so do the needs of our skin. While summer calls for lighter, oil-control formulas, winter demands a more intense hydration and protective approach.

To keep your skin healthy, radiant, and protected from the harsh winter elements, it's crucial to adapt your skincare routine accordingly. Luckily, White Rabbit Skincare can help you do just that!

Hydrating

Winter

The drying effects of cold weather can leave your skin parched, rough, and prone to flakiness. To combat this, prioritise hydration as the foundation of your winter skincare routine. Opt for a rich, creamy moisturiser that provides deep nourishment and locks in moisture, such as our Coconut & Rosehip Calming Day Cream.

External hydration is essential, but don't neglect internal hydration too. Drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your skin plump and supple from within.

There are other parts of our body we also neglect to keep hydrated, such as our hands and feet. They’re constantly exposed to the elements, making them more susceptible to dryness and cracking. Make sure you’re moisturising your hands and feet after washing them, and for extra protection, also wear gloves and socks to minimise exposure to dry air.

And one more thing: your lips! Our lips are often overlooked in our skincare routines, but they're particularly vulnerable to the dryness and chapping that winter brings. Try applying a generous layer of our Organic Tinted Lip Balm throughout the day, especially after meals and before bedtime.

Exfoliation and Cleansing

While hydration is essential, exfoliation is equally important. During the winter, dead skin cells tend to accumulate more easily, making the skin appear dull and uneven. Regular exfoliation helps remove these dead cells, revealing brighter, smoother skin underneath.

Use a gentle exfoliating scrub or a mild chemical exfoliator one or two times a week. We recommend our Eucalyptus & Lavender Comforting Cleansing Balm!

Also, while regular cleansing is important and shouldn’t be neglected, excessive cleansing can strip away the skin's natural oils, exacerbating dryness in winter: make sure that you cleanse your face twice daily, but avoid using harsh soaps or scrubs when doing so!

We hope this advice helps you adapt your skincare routine to the colder seasons to keep it protected from the winter's harsh effects. If you want to browse more natural products that can keep your skin healthy, make sure you check out the full White Rabbit range!
